Cost verses Value
Every once in a while I’ll get a call from someone looking to have their “Project X” done in a hurry and on the cheap. In that case, I would not be a good match for you — it’s not that I don’t want to help, but I’m about getting it done right and providing a good value. Besides, if your business and your project are important to you, isn’t it just as important to consider investing in good design and marketing tools that make you shine?

How I work.

What It’s Like to Work with Grand Ciel? I design with my clients, not at them. In other words, I partner with clients to ensure my concepts and designs stay in tune with their objectives and tastes, yet be aesthetically pleasing and memorable. I guide and educate clients in areas that are new to them, but never talk over their heads. At the same time, I listen, learn and take an active interest in my clients’ businesses, their concerns and goals ~ it’s the only way to effectively create the best ideas and solutions for them. Most of all, I strive to make the creative process for clients a joy, not a chore.

I’m Honest. I’ll tell you when I don’t know the answer, but instead of shrugging my shoulders, I’ll work hard to find a solution. Because I’m human, there may be times when I screw up. Finger pointing never helps a situation. I’ll stay accountable and do what I can to right the situation.

How I see it. The best ideas don’t come from looking at a computer screen. It’s a tool. Period. Inspiration comes from exploration, drawing thoughts and concepts down on paper, bouncing them off others for feedback. Only when solid ideas emerge do I sit down at the computer to polish them, prepare them for presentation and assign rationals. This ensures the work is thought out, original and custom created, for you, the client. (It also makes for some pretty interesting sketch books).

Are We a Match? I land a lot of my business from referrals. But sometimes a project or potential client is just not a good fit and I have to say no. At the same time, I don’t want to let you go away empty-handed. For these cases, I listen to what your needs are and try to provide you with a number of creatives or resources to help you find the one who is meant to create for you.

Finding the Right Fit

Every independent art director/designer is optimized for different types of work. Due to my experience and know-how I am best optimized for:

Somewhat Small to Medium to Somewhat Large-ish Projects
What does that mean? I have many small business and non-profit clients, but the objective is to avoid the very small projects (under $800.00) because my process doesn’t work well at that scale. Likewise, I’ll also pass on the super large projects (over $25,000) because I’ve found they’re just not fun to work on and can be all- consuming. Everything else in between, I’m certain to dazzle!
