Illustrations by Kristin Maija Peterson

I am currently illustrating two children’s picture books that I wrote, “Books at Night” and “The Dog Who Loved Lettuce.”

© Time for Bed: An illustration showing the imagination of a little boy — he’s shown riding off to some new adventure. Meanwhile, his blanket becomes a magic carpet, the sandman and toothfairy are puzzled because the little boy should be in bed. His teddy bear is mad he’s not in bed. His bedtime (8 pm) has flown out the window. 2009

My alter ego, at least during the winter. That’s Andy — he’s an American Eskimo, so he has no problem looking stylish in the cold. For me, there is no fashion when the there is wind chill.

So there you have it.

Just a sampling of my work that ranges from highly detailed to light and whimsical.
I work in watercolor, pen and ink, and color pencil and pastel.
